Course Description

Students in Criminal Justice will learn the dynamic components (law enforcement, corrections, courts, etc.) of the criminal justice system.  Skills/lab work is also a component of the program.  Students will learn and perform a variety of skills/lab work such as handcuffing, investigating mock accidents, completing court documents, etc.  This course incorporates many guest speakers such as police officers, coroner, victim/witness advocates, and more.  Field trips are also part of the learning experience.  Students enrolled in Criminal Justice II will also perform job shadowing in an area of interest to them.  Students completing both years of this course will have a strong understanding for the basics of our criminal justice system and how it works.
