Welding teaches the student to make various types of welds on different types of materials. Knowledge of welding symbols, basic blueprint reading and the ability to operate, adjust, and safely control equipment is essential. Students develop skills and knowledge to perform shielded metal arc welding (STICK), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Flux Cored Arc Welding, Plasma Arc Cutting and Oxy Fuel Torch Cutting.
