Cisco Announces Standards Alignment Database

The Cisco Academy Program has recently
announced its Standards
Alignment Database. The database was created in order to
map state academic standards in math, science, and language arts to
learning objectives in the CCNA 1-4 courses. The alignment data was
created by teachers in each state along with external educational
consultants. These experts analyzed their state's standards and
identified correlations with the learning objectives of the CCNA
curriculum.
The
U.S. national standards in math, science, and language arts have
also been included.
CCNA
stands for
Cisco Certified Network Associate, and is the first of many
industry recognized certifications offered by Cisco, the world's
foremost manufacturer of Internetworking Equipment. GAVC offers CCNA 1
and CCNA 2 as its Computer Maintenance Technology 2 curriculum.
CCNA 1 is the first semester of the second year of CMT, and
CCNA 2 is the second semester of the second year of CMT.
Students completing these two semesters are halfway through
the four semester program designed to prepare them to take the CCNA
exam. Students may complete the other two semesters at a
variety of junior colleges, universities or technical
schools.
