Illinois State Conservation Officer Matt Anderson (above) shows
students pictures of illegal activity (poaching, bait stands,
illegal weapons, etc.) he has confiscated on the job. Officer
Anderson talked about the skills needed for the job, the activities
involved in the job, and the qualifications needed to be a
conservation officer. There are only about 120
conservation officers throughout the state. Conservation
officers have the same arresting powers as any law enforcement
official in the state of Illinois.
