Criminal Justice starts new year

by Craig Williamson

October 03, 2006

The year 2006 has started off with the students being very busy. The students have had several guest speakers so far this year, including Grundy County Coroner John Callahan and Dep Coroner Phyllis Dralle, Grundy County Victim advocate Vicky Surman, Sgt Jason Lawford from the Grundy County Jail, and Officer Ryan Crose of the United States Coast Guard.

The students have learned about traffic stops, domestic violence, Coroner's investigations, and fingerprinting. They have also spent a lot of time doing research about the various defenses that defendants have when going to trial. In the future months, the students will be exposed to car crash investigations, crime scene investigation, personal defense, and many other skills related activities. We thank our speakers that we have had and look forward to the months ahead.

The criminal justice program is taught by Mr Mark Hulbert and Mr Craig Williamson.
