Computer Maintenance Technology I -- A+ Certification Preparation

The first year of the CMT program provides students with the necessary preparation and resources needed to sit for the A+ Certification Exam. The curriculum maps fully to CompTIA's 2006 A+ Exams.  A combination of hands-on classroom learning labs, online curriculum, and text-based content engage students in the real-world tasks of computer maintenance and repair.  Keeping up with current trends in technology keeps learners on the cutting-edge of this ever changing field.

Computer Maintenance Technology II -- Cisco CCNA Semesters 1 & 2

GAVC is a Local Academy in the Cisco sponsored "Cisco Networking Academy" training program. The Cisco Networking Academy Program provides the skills students need to work in IT fields. The program offers Web-based content, online assessment, hands-on labs, instructor training, and preparation for industry certifications.  Students completing GAVC's CMT II will be halfway through the four semester CCNA Exploration training program, with the option of completing the last two semesters at several local community colleges or technical schools.

Both CMT I and CMT II both offer dual credit with Joliet Junior College.
