Congrats to State SkillsUSA Participants!

The Illinois Association of SkillsUSA held its annual Leadership and Skills conference in Springfield, IL on April 17-19th. Nineteen students from GAVC qualified to participate in the state conference and did an excellent job in demonstrating their talent. Students from Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, and Welding competed in front of educators, parents, industry personnel, post-secondary schools and community members from the entire state. Welding student, Brian LaRou, a junior from Morris took 1st Place and has qualified to go on to the National Championship competition in Kansas City, MO June 23-June 28th. Congratulations to all the students as they did an amazing job!
