Students completing GAVC's CMT II will be halfway through the four semester CCNA Exploration training program, with the option of completing the last two semesters at any one of several local community colleges, universities, or technical schools. The four semester series is designed to prepare students to sit for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification Exam. Students will learn such networking concepts as: the OSI Reference Model, the TCP/IP Protocol Suite, network architectures, network topologies, and the various protocols used in networking. In addition, much hands-on learning involving the configuration of Cisco routers and various vendors' switching equipment will take place. Upon completion of the two semesters, students will be capable of configuring LAN and WAN equipment and securing the networks they build.
CMT II offers 8 hours of dual credit with Joliet Junior College.
