New Faces for GAVC's Cosmetology Program

GAVC is proud to announce Franklin Cosmetology Institute as our new contracted service provider for our Cosmetology Program! In February of 2010, GAVC’s Board of Control approved the new provider and contract to start at the beginning of the current school year.
The owner/director of Franklin Cosmetology Institute is Shantel Leasure and co-director is Sheila Bunton. After 20 years as hairstylists, Leasure and Bunton are sharing their expertise and training GAVC’s future cosmetologists. In addition to Leasure and Bunton teaching, student teachers from Shantel's Salon and Day Spa will also be teaching at the school.
The school is located inside the Franklin Building, owned by Leasure, in downtown Morris. The school contains two clinic rooms setup exactly like a salon with work stations for hair design, an area for manicures and pedicures, and a room for facials and skincare. There is a classroom for the theory and textbook portion of the curriculum and a break room. A slideshow including some pictures of the school can be viewed by clicking on the picture above.
