Supporting Student Success

by Terry Klepp
October 24, 2008

Support Services is designed to provide various types of support to any student that has an IEP, along with any student who is either self- referred or teacher referred and is struggling to become successful in their GAVC class. Support options are individualized to fit student needs.  Support options include counseling, study aids, study guides, proofing, organizational support, and test taking. The goal is to maximize each student's learning experiences at GAVC.

Testing Accommodations

Any first year Health Occupations student or second year Cosmetology student who will be taking the state licensing exam for their respective class and who has an IEP, may receive accommodations on their exams.  Second semester, Mr. Klepp will be contacting these students and their parents to see if they wish to request accommodations. If their are any questions regarding these exam accommodations, students or parents can contact Mr. Klepp by calling the center or by e-mail at tklepp@gavc-il.org.
