About me...

My name is Jeff Hanley.  I bring over 30 years of police experience and knowledge to the classroom.  As a Shorewood Police Officer, I held many positions to include:  Patrol Officer; Evidence Technician; Patrol Sergeant; Gang Specialist; Investigations Commander; Domestic Violence Investigator, to name a few.  I retired as a Police Lieutenant, and supervised the day-to-day operations of the police department.  I served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer with tours of duty in Sinop, Turkey and with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY.
I have always had a passion for teaching and thoroughly enjoy educating my students about the Criminal Justice System.  I teach Criminal Justice I and Criminal Justice II in Room 115 at Coal City High School.  I strive to make my classroom an innovative, engaging, and enjoyable environment that encourages critical thinking.  Role-playing, hands-on exercises, guest speakers and field trips to pertinent locations enhance the multi-dimensional learning process.
