Course Description

This program offers students an authentic entrepreneurship experience while gaining knowledge and skills necessary to own and operate their own businesses. Topics from several fields typically form the course content: economics, marketing principles, human relations and psychology, business and labor law, legal rights and responsibilities of ownership, business and financial planning, finance and accounting, and communication. Several topics surveyed in Business Management courses may also be included. 

 

Express Impress (Heat Press Transfer/Vinyl Printing) will be housed in this program. Students will develop professionalism while playing an active role in a student centered T-shirt printing company called Express Impress. They will participate in situations closely resembling actual on-the-job situations.  Through these experiences, students will gain insight into the work environment, thereby assisting in their own transition from school to the workplace.  

This course will also provide occupational preparation for careers in the digital media and graphic communications world.  Students will master a wide variety of skill sets ranging from graphic design, digital media, and visual communication.  Adobe CC Suite is available with heavy focus on Photoshop and Illustrator.

This course is also designed to develop computer application skills using a totally integrated software package that include word-processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows environment using Microsoft Word and Excel. Microsoft Office curriculum will be enriched with daily application in projects and student work.  Students will utilize the intuitive functions of these programs in order to increase efficiency and productivity while supporting creative usage.
