Welcome to the Grundy Area Vocational Center, Culinary Arts I and II, program.
The course is taught as A and B year calendar which allows students to earn Joliet Junior College dual credit.
Culinary Arts I and II
Offers students hands on experience in food preparations, knife skills, classroom demonstrations, mother sauces, quantity cooking, small scale marketing, candy making, meal preparation, Event planning, menu plan, prep and serve, Chopped competition, in class bakery, sugar cookies, cakes, pies and cupcakes. Cost Analysis, Product Quality Expectation, General understanding of Production Needs and Follow thru. Several Field Trips to Cafeteria kitchens, Local restaurants and Joliet Junior College Culinary Department. Servesafe Sanitation Manager Certification is taught and tested.
